Problem with flickr widget linked to group pool

  I am having a problem with my flickr widget. I’ve tried to find a solution for several days and it’s making me so frustrated ;)

  My flickr widget works great with my own flickr photostream. No problem. But when I use it with my newly created flickr group pool, I get no pictures, just the “more photos” link.

  The mind boggling thing is that when I link it to this group pool: http://flickr.com/groups/cfcc/ it works fine! Any word of advice? Thank you so much…Milan.

  I’m assuming it’s because of how you set up the pool on flickr. If you click on the “More Photos” it tells you “There’s nothing visible to you in the Show me how pool. You need to be a member of a group before you can add something to the pool.”

  justjennifer…you are right. The thing I don’t understand is WHY that happens. The group pool is set to public (the show group pool option is checked), all of my images are set to “anyone can see this photo.” I made sure that they are not hidden from searches.

  My imagess are still a no show in the flickr widget ;(

  I’m assuming you’ve read the WP.COM FAQ on using the flickr widget http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/using-the-flickr-widget/

  Let me go play with one of my group’s photos and see what I come up with. It might just be a limitation with the WP.COM flickr widget itself.

  There are 16 photos. I did read the WP.COM faq… I cannot see my images in the group pool if I am not logged in, which I know is a problem. But all of my settings are set to public, show, allow, etc… So I am puzzled. Thanks for your time!

  No problem.

  I’ve gone back and added the flickr widget to my own blog, linked the rss feeds of groups that I belong to and even those that I don’t belong to and in every single case the photos showed in my wp.com flickr widget, except the photos from the group pool you are trying to link to. So, it still seems to me that the problem most likely lies with the settings on flickr and not with the wp.com widget.

  Unfortunately, I can’t help you with the flickr end… sorry.

  Well, thanks anyway.

  Perhaps the flickr database needs to catch up to the newly created group. I am not sure. I will keep trying.
