Problem with how a post shows up in Reader

can I control what shows up in reader?
when a post is shown in reader it often shows photos I’ve uploaded to this specific post but deleted again and then not showing the photo I’m ending up posting unless the viewer go to the post on my site. Why is this? Problem is it doesn’t give the viewer in Reader the option to see the existing photo unless they go to the post. Any idea what I’m missing here?

We bloggers do not have the option of selecting which image is displayed or changing what’s displayed in the Reader at all.
Moreover, I would never ever delete a published post and break link creating a 404 (page not found) in the SERPs Google search page results, because it’s Google, Bing and the other engines that send a significant flow of traffic to blogs.
Problem is it doesn’t give the viewer in Reader the option to see the existing photo unless they go to the post.
I fail to see how driving people to your site to read the full post and view the images is problematic as that’s the only way an actual page view stat can be created.
Likes are not page views. In fact, likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat. Thank you very much for you thorough answer and very useful blogging tips. I truly apologize for apparently not making my question clear.
When I work on creating a post, I upload a photo to this post, preview it, don’t like it, remove the photo again and upload another one, shortly put making changes to the same post before pressing it, so not until satisfied I press it. However when I press it and go to reader or some of your great weekly challenges, it doesn’t show up as the actual post I ended up posting but with some of the first photos I had uploaded and removed again before I pressed it. So problem remains, the viewer sees a post that actually isn’t what I posted and furthermore might not attract them to my site.

I can’t seem to find the posts in the reader. Could you send us a screenshot of the page where you’re seeing this? You can upload the screenshot to your blog’s media library.

I’m so sorry, I’ve now tried on my own laptop and on a stationary mac, regardless, none of them can scroll down that far in weekly photo challenges (about 2 weeks) or Reader to reach the posts. Every time I try the screen gets slower and slower until it simply stops responding or the page crashes… I suppose only option then is, I will reply to this next time I have a post showing up wrongly in reader?
