Problem with HTML or XML Tags when switching between visual & html editors

  While editing my site using the https://wordpress.com/posts/randomaccessbrain.wordpress.com editors I’m having the problem that if I create a preformatted block and add HTML into this then switch from the Visual Editor to the HTML editor I notice that the HTML I had posted in the Visual editor looks like regular HTML and not having the < or > replaced with < and >. When I switch back to the visual editor all my HTML tags are then missing.

  So I manually edited in the HTML editor and replaced all the < and > with < and >. I switched to the visual editor and it all looks good, then I switched back to the HTML editor and you guessed it, the editor has replaced my < and > with < and > respectively. Then once again if I go to the visual editor my tags are missing.

  Strangely enough this does NOT happen when I edit using the old fashioned but apparently more stable wp-admin page to edit my posts.

  LOL just looked at what I posted and apparently the problem is also here or at least something close to it. In the original post I was attempting to display &lt ; (without space) and &gt ; (also without space) but apparently the editors don’t know when not to parse it.

  Hi folks, I’ve seen some issues when doing lots of switching back and forth between Visual and HTML. We’ll file a case on this, but for now I recommend either doing your HTML editing last, saving in between steps, or sticking with WP-Admin for html-heavy posts.
