Problem with image size in my side bar
-
I am using the baskerville theme and my side bar image of my book cover is cut in half. I can’t seem to change it in my widgets image area. Suggestions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The file image has the dimensions 432 x 565 pixels, an aspect ratio of about 1:1.3. To display the whole image given the width allowed in the Baskerville sidebar widget area will require resizing of the image while maintaining the same width to height ratio. It’s a mathematics problem. Determine what width is allowed and I’ll tell you the corresponding height that will allow the whole image to display.

Thanks for the reply. Do you suggest going into the original image file and then changing the size? I plan on doing a lot more blogging and really like the Baskerville theme and would like to keep.

Hi @danielpliska!
The theme should probably be preventing that from happening on it’s own. I think theres a small issue with image captions that’s causing the problem.
I’m opening a report so this can be looked into more.
If you’d like, you can set the image width directly for the time being.
Click into My Site > Customize > Widgets > Sidebar and open your Image Widget. Set the Width to 235, and it should fit in your sidebar :)

Howdy!
Thanks much for reporting this. We’ve made a fix to Baskerville so large captioned images won’t overflow the content or sidebar areas.
Cheers!
