Problem with loading site
-
Hi! There’s often problem loading my client’s site: http://svenchristianson.wordpress.com/ Often it’s just very slow but now and then it doesn’t load at all. I wonder what may cause this trouble… Thankful for any tip or suggestion…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
I cannot get that site to load at all. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
-
Thank you!
I see now that the forum added a row in my post with a link to my personal blog… That site doesn’t have these problems at all, only the one I first refered to.
-
Thanks for confirming the URL. There’s a considerable backlog of threads tagged for Staff. You will have to be very patient while waiting.

Hi there,
It looks like you set up some kind of domain forwarding or masking, which may be the cause for the speed. Please contact your domain host about this.
I highly recommend mapping your domain using our nameservers.
Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
Then add the domain mapping upgrade to your account. For more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you very much for your answer!
I did as you told me. The site is now loading quicker, BUT the mail box that is connected to the domain won’t recieve any e-mails since I updated the name servers…
The registrator tells me that I need to add another name server to the WordPress account. Is that possible to do? How?

Hi Linnea,
Sure! You can do this by adding custom records. Please view this guide for specific instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/
Cheers!

Ok! Thanks!
Am I right that I’m supposed to choose MX in the drop down menu in this case? And what should I write in the first text field (example.svenchristianson.se it says)? And also, when I only have one name server of this type, does the priority number matter?
I have read the support pages but didn’t find the answers for these questions. Would be very happy for quick response, since my client is very eager to get his e-mail to work again!

Hi Linnea,
I see that you added the MX Record. Are you sure the priority is 2? Please check that. If it is email should work, but it may take a couple days to propagate.
-
How do I find out what the priority is? And was it right of me to add the MX Record or is there an alternative? Sorry, this is all new to me…
-
You would have to ask your email host. I wouldn’t know what the priority is. Please contact support of your email host and they should be able to give you all the records that need to be added.
