Problem with Loggin in–Can’t Comment on Other Blogs

  I’m logged in with my blog, but when I want to comment on another blog (WP) and it asks for me to log in first, it won’t accept my login, showing “Invalid Username”. Any suggestions?

  If it’s a self-hosted WordPress blog, your WordPress.com username and password will not work.

  Thank you for the replies.

  My blog is a wordpress.com blog. I log in to my blog ok and make changes, so I don’t think my blog is related to the problem; and I logged in at the forum here ok to post, but inbetween when I tried to comment on another WordPress blogs (today it was self-hosted, but I don’t recall if they are all self-hosted or if some are on wordress.com), my normal log in username and password don’t work–“invalid username”.

  mtdewvirus, do you mean that if the WP log in window pops up before I can comment on those blogs, I need to register a new username and password for other blogs?

  There are two kinds of WordPress: there is WP.com and there is independent WP. Your WP.com username is not accepted at independent blogs. If they demand you register, that means you have to register with THEM, not with WP.com.

  Got it, thank you! (I wish “Register For This Site” had popped up in the first WP log in window instead of AFTER clicking on “register”…)
