Problem with mapping an existing domain
-
Hi there,
I have a domain registered with another registrar, but I want to used with your blog here at WordPress.com.
The problem is, that when I am trying to map this existing domain http://www.odkultury.sk, which I already own, with my WP blog http://www.odkultury.wordpress.com its not working.
I went to the Domains page, select my site, and choose the “Map an Existing Domain” option, but there is a notice, that ‘sorry, your domain has not been registered yet, therefore cannot be mapped’. I contacted my domain provider recently, but there is everything ok on their site and the domain is registered. Please, con you help me with this problem?
Thanks,
ZuzanaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

odkultury.sk, – seems to be registered
Might be an issue with the .sk domain – with some extensions a bit of help from the staff is needed
I have flagged this for the staff to help

Hi Bruce, i’m experiencing a similar issue here.
My domain is thecampus.ie and the blog I need help with is journ2016.wordpress.com -
Hello @journ2016
I’ve mapped that domain for you. Since you’re on the Premium Plan, the mapping is already paid for!
Your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers. You can view the current name servers on this page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=thecampus.ie
You’ll need to update the name servers with your domain registrar. This article explains how:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
The name servers for WordPress.com are:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
If you’re not sure how to change them, please contact your registrar for assistance.
Once you have updated the name servers, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be pointed to your WordPress.com site.
Then you can set your custom domain as the primary address for your site here:
https://journ16blog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
Select your domain from the list, and then click the “Update Primary Domain” button to save the change.
