Problem with my followers showing in my Author Widget

I am just in the process of setting up my wordpress blog page and I am adding certain Widgets. I have added the Author widget and I am suscribing to someones blog – should her icon picture be showing in this box so I can quickly link to her blog without the need to go searching for it, or do I need another Widget for the blogs I am following?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Use the links widget to make your blogroll.
It’s a list of the blogs and sites you visit or recommend to your readers. You can organize the list with categories: “Friends” “Important Info” etc.

The author’s widget is a way to display a list of all the authors who write on your blog. If you are the only author, then it will display only your gravatar. It will link to your latest posts if you like.
