Problem with nameserver (.no)
-
When trying to change the nameservers I get this message:
The nameserver ns1.wordpress.com does not answer authoritatively to requests for the zone gabor.no.
For .no domains the nameservers must be configured correctly before the delegation can be completed. Not all ISPs are aware of this. Please contact the administrators of the nameservers you are trying to use, and ask them to create a valid zone file for gabor.no on all the nameservers.
What to do?

I would like to change the url with a current domain I own. It’s from domeneshop.no and the previous message is what I got when following the instructions for mapping a domain.

Flagged for the staff to help –
They were supposed to have made the zone records automatic – sounds like they missed something

Hi there,
We’ve added a zone file record for the domain gabor.no. You can finish mapping this domain to your WordPress.com blog with this guide: Map an Existing Domain
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

I changed the nameserver now, and put the url in. How long before it changes? Or did I miss something?
-
It can take up to 72 hours for the domain name to propagate throughout the internet after you have taken all the required steps. Also note that it’s common for your own ISP to be the last one to flush their DNS cache.

Hi there,
As timethief mentioned, it can take up to 72 hours for the change to fully propagate. You can also use this DNS propagation checker to see if your new nameservers have taken effect:

Thanks for the fast answer, really nice. It seems to work, but it redirects to gabor.no with the old layout of the site. I just want the domain to show my wordpress.com blog layout I’ve created, not the other way. Am I missing something?

It looks like your name servers are not set to WordPress.com, please review the name server settings with your domain name registrar

When I look at whatsmydns, whois & Domain Helper all show the Name servers not set to WordPress.com
ns1.hyp.net
ns2.hyp.net
ns3.hyp.netAll I can suggest is check with your registrar and see what they think until @rachelmcr checks back.
https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/gabor.no – does some extra flushing to insure data accuracy as does http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/

It seems it has changed now, but still displaying the other (old) website, when it should be the blog..?
-
Ok, think it works now. Thanks for all the help. It is fantastic! Have a great firday ;)
-
Yep, your domain is correctly pointed to your WordPress.com blog now. :) Happy blogging!
