Problem with new editor parent page assignments

  • Unknown's avatar

My site has numerous pages that I update continually. For example: ( http://hikingangelesforest.com/trail-segments/cobb-estate-trail-segments/lower-sam-merrill-trail-s/ ). Now when I go to the page and click edit it takes me to the new editor which doesn’t display most of my page structure nor does it accurately show the location of the page I’m trying to edit. As a result, if I edit and save my page, it shows up as a parent instead of one of the children. Granted, I can work around this by getting to the old editor and searching for the page, but that’s a lot more work. That’s a drag. Is there any way to fix this? My blog is hikingangelesforest.com using Twenty Eleven Theme.

Thanks in advance for any help

Sorry bloggers to interrupt this forum. I m having some serious problem with my blog and domain in wordpress. Please help.

I am having a different problem with my domain. I register a domain with name of indiatouristspot.com and mapped with a indiantouristspotss.wordpress.com website. However, i have deleted the wordpress site and now i want to map the domain with other wordpress site and i am getting error in that. its giving transfer failed error when i am clicking on transfer to another site option in my upgrades. I tried cancelling the domain map but that is also not working. Please suggest what to do?

I am not able to change the site as well as not able to cancel and refund the domain. My project is stuck in the middle. Please help

Yes, WordPress, please fix this! I have many possible parent pages and only a small number of them appear in the options you are now providing and they are completely random. Is there a way to get back to the old editor while you are fixing this to allow full access to assign parent pages?

Posted about these a few threads down earlier today. Pages and the hierarchies aren’t working as they used to. WordPress is still a wonderful service!

    Hi everyone,

I know this issue makes it more difficult to edit child pages — I’m sorry for the trouble! For now, the most reliable way to edit your child pages is to go first to your site’s WP Admin dashboard and edit those pages from the Pages section there.

Our team is aware of the issue and investigating ways to improve how parent and child pages work in the editor, but we don’t yet have a timeline for when this particular issue will be fixed. I’ll let you know if I get an update about that!

I’m having this problem too! WordPress you need to fix it. It’s alos impossible to change the parent page of a sub-page too. and new ones don’t appear.
I don’t like not being able to deal with page attributes on the new edit form either. Why can’t I do this? Yes, I know to go to site admin (more clicks) but even then changing the sub-page attributes doesn’t work!
    Please fix this asap.

Also having the same problem. Looking forward to a fix. However, I like the old page editor just fine and could really live without the new one. Thanks for the help. PLEASE don’t get rid of the old one!

I’m glad to see this is just a bug and I’m not alone! I actually thought I reached a cap for subpages when I saw that two were “booted” to the front page (with “no parent” selected) and I couldn’t put them back where they belonged. So I created a new page to put the overflow but that didn’t fix the problem. There seems to be an arbitrary set of choices of which pages I can assign as parent, and it’s breaking my website’s organization.
