Problem with old wordpress account

    Hi guys,

I’ve an pretty old WordPress account, hosted on wordpress.com, I don’t know which version that it used, I created it in 2006, but I never use it until last month ago when WordPress announce the 2.7 release. I use the 2.7 when I was helping my friend to create her blog. The blog was hosted on her own domain, and she’s never get any problem when using Windows Live Writer. Later I decided to give it a try for my own WordPress blog, because I already have the account anyway, and what I found was totally different with my friend’s one, I don’t even have a chance to install plugins, I don’t know how to check the version that I’m using it, but the interface just the same with the latest one. Live Writer always shows this error “The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLite”. There is no way to change the xml-rpc option, because there was no such option anyway. Deleting my account would be a useless way, because I’ll not be able to use my current account name again anyway. So my question is:
Is my WordPress version was too old, so I don’t get any new feature from the latest one, or every account that host their blog on worpress.com will not be able to install any plugins and can not use any xml-rpc client like Live Writer? If my version was too old how to I upgrade it, because I don’t even can install any plugins :(

    Thanks in advance,
    Sani.
