Problem with oxygen postpage & homepage (slider)

Hai All,
I recently started working with the wordpress Oxygen theme (Love it btw!). All went well, after some figuring out.. but now I am stuck. A few days ago I added a roll-out (sub)page to one of my pages. went well..looks nice.. But all of the sudden my frontpage (home) was empty.
To get the frontpage up and running again I had to add a page, which I called overview (postpage), where all my posts are listed. The frontpage looks the same as it did before, including the slider.
But today I published an other post which I made sticky..because I wanted it to show in the slider. Turns out it doesn’t work anymore. When I make it sticky, all that happens is that it is moved to the top on the overview (postpage) page but not on the frontpage. Making it ‘unsticky’ makes it show on the homepage..but not in the slider as intended.
I tried changing home from frontpage to post page but then it is empty again.

I don’t understand how adding a “(sub)page” might have had any effect on the static front page.
To get the frontpage up and running again I had to add a page, which I called overview (postpage), where all my posts are listed.
Assigning a page on which to display the posts page is appropriate. However, I still don’t understand how doing so would have affected the static front page.
I just ran a test in which I assigned a static page, with the Showcase Template assigned to it, as the front page, and left the posts page unassigned at Reading Settings. The front page displays the Showcase Template page as one would expect, and it includes the slider.
But today I published an other post which I made sticky..because I wanted it to show in the slider. Turns out it doesn’t work anymore.
Did you use an image of at least 750 pixels in width? The Quick Specs section of the Oxygen theme guide says. “Featured slider images are 750 x 380 [pixels].”
I’ve added a “modlook” tag to call for staff attention, because this is the second topic I’ve come across today containing the complaint that assigning sticky posts on the Oxygen theme suddenly stopped placing them in the slider.

Thank you for your reply… The image should be big enough. Also yesterday I added a new post after which my ‘about’ page was gone. Don’t know if there is any connexion but it’s odd.. to say the least.

@beckyaluoch — What exactly do you want to display on the front page? Your recent posts, or a static page?
As for posts not ending up in the slider, can you give me a link to a post where you’d expect it to be in the slider, but it isn’t?

Can you make sure the featured image is at least 750 pixels wide? If you’re still having trouble, please give this solution a try, and let me know what you find.

Hai Chris. Thanks for your message! No luck still…unfortunately. Both https://thegoodstory.wordpress.com/2015/12/08/5-impressive-advocacy-campaigns-on-climate-change/ and https://thegoodstory.wordpress.com/2015/11/17/message-to-isis/ should be showing in the slider (they are sticky) but are not. Any ideas?

hoo I spoke to soon :) played around with the images and one of them now is showing in the slider :D
