problem with permalink amendment

  I cannot amend the permalink after creating and relocating the site to the necessary number. It should be i. e. 12345 and the permalink now always switches to 12345-2. I deleted and recreated the site. I deleted cache and cookies. I deleted the site in my bin. However, it would not be amendable.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  When WordPress adds a “-2” to the end of a page URL, it means that there is already an existing page with that name, even if the page is in the Trash folder.

  Also, you may not readily see it if it is your homepage and you are using a Custom menu.

  Well in my dashboard there is no such site anymore also not in the bin. I also checked the other blogs.

  The issue occurs when a page title only consists out of numbers. If you include a letter or word the issue doesn’t occur.

  I’ve just contacted a developer to take a closer look at this. I’ll keep you updated.

  How can I correct my Permalink? A word has gotten into it that shouldn’t be there and I cannot find how to correct. It reads http://folechapelpapacy.wordpress.com but should read http://folechapel.wordpress.com any help please?

  You cannot edit the blog URL. You can change it only. If you want to change the blog address ie. the URL starting with http:// then you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to do that and the URL you desire must be available. If so then you can change the URL by using this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

  Yes I thing that’s solved the problem, partly at least. Having changed the username in suggested way afterwards when I went to settings to change the username name there it tells me its already in use, well I know, I just used it? Rank beginner, struggling with this?

  @languager It seems the issues lies in the WordPress Core and is being tracked by our developers at http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5305 .

  At this moment there is nothing we can do other than waiting for a developer to submit a patch that fixes the issue. Alternatively you can include a letter or word so the issue doesn’t occur.
