Problem with photos on front page – autofocus theme?

  I am unable to get the photos from within posts to display on the front page or archive pages etc. Am I doing something wrong? I thought it would be fairly automatic, from the theme description. I’m a novice at this so please excuse my ignorance.

  You’ll need to assign featured images to your posts to have them displayed on the front/archive pages:
