Problem with post formats

I’ve been trying to get post formats working on my new blog. I’ve tested it with both Scratchpad and baskerville 2. I’ve tried creating a draft and made a block of the quote type and then setting the post format to quote, but I can’t see any difference compared to the standard post format when looking at the preview.
The same is true when try creating a post with a picture and the picture post format.Is there some kind of extra setting I need to turn on or is it maybe due to me having a free account?

Hi there,
With the new block editor, You would see the desired change sometimes after pubishing the post on the blog and not seen in preview. There’s no extra setting required as such.
Would suggest, keep the page/post private first to test and then make it public.Hope this helps!! :)

I had a quick play around with the Scratchpad theme and found that you’re right in that the quote block does appear the same whether using only the quote block (with the standard Post Format) or a normal paragraph and the quote Post Format.
But, the two become quite different if you add other elements on the page, like a paragraph or an image, then there is a marked difference between using the quote Post Format and the standard Post Format.
In regards to the image, I found that the image in the Image Post Format gets a nice album-corners effect (I don’t know how else to describe it) where as if the post Format is set the standard then it just looks like a normal post.
It seems that the image Post Format will simply pick up and frame either the featured image (if you have one set) or the first image in the post.
Does all that make sense to you?

Thank you for your help! It worked as smitsahatiya wrote – the format changes appeared a while after publishing the post. A bit strange, but I’m happy it works.
