problem with quentin theme

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve been using the standard “quentin” theme for a long time without a problem. Then, about a month ago, with no changes by me, the colors changed and much of the text became invisible. I have tried switching to another theme and switching back, but to no avail. I have a very simply blog (text only, http://www.tylerpaul.wordpress.com) and would love to get the quentin theme back. Any suggestions?

My first suggestion would be to put the more tags on a separate line. Putting them on the same line at the end of a paragraph ends up separating the post div tags and can cause issues.

First off, go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click save changes.

Next open each post where you have used the more tag, and put it on a separate line below the paragraph.

I think those two things will take care of things for you.

Also, I noticed a couple posts that appear to have been copied and pasted from another program, or from the web, and there is some extra HTML in them that could be causing issues. When you copy and paste something, make sure and us the “paste as plain text” icon on the lower tool bar in the visual editor. It will strip out any code that might cause an issue.

Thanks so much! That fixed it–I have my old theme back :)
