Problem with Romero Excerpt

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi there. I use the Romero theme, which places a large image at the top with just the post title in it. As of just a couple of days ago, it has changed where the info in the excerpt box is now included in the photo, just under the post title. This looks junky, and it also pushes the post title too far up into the image. I’ve corrected it on my most recent posts by deleting the excerpts, but I don’t fancy going back and manually removing them on hundreds of posts. I’m suspecting this is a glitch and might be discovered and corrected soon, but in case not, what can I do to remove the excerpt info from the main post image? Thanks.

  • Good morning –

Thanks for getting in touch. It does sound like something has changed. Are you able to grab a screen shot of what you’re seeing when those post excerpts are in place? I can then compare that to what I see on my own computer. The screen shot can get linked in to your reply here with a third party like droplr or snag.gy.

Do you know if it’s displaying oddly in more than one browser? Please let me know which ones you have seen this problem occur in.

Hi there. I am attaching two screenshots. The first (Aquaman) with the star rating under the title is the new, INCORRECT one. The second (Fighting with My Family) without the star rating and just the title is the old, CORRECT one and how it’s supposed to look. It is displaying oddly in both Firefox (which is what I use) and Chrome but displaying correctly in Safari.

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

I don’t see any excerpt displayed under the title on the Aquaman post. The other post don’t appear to have an excerpt set, but both those posts display exactly the same for me:

It is displaying oddly in both Firefox (which is what I use) and Chrome but displaying correctly in Safari.

I took those screen shots in Firefox, but the Aquaman post also looks right to me in Chrome. That indicates the problem is specific to your browsers on your computer rather than a problem with the theme or your site.

Please try clearing the browser cache in both those browsers. If you have any browser add-ons installed, also try disabling those or viewing your site in incognito/private mode to see if that makes any difference.
