Problem with 'Search Field' Activity
-
My ‘search field’ refuses to recognize blog posts in my archive listing. I tried on both the Google Chrome and Safari browser platforms, and in every entry it stated- that the post was not found.
I then had to go to my archive panel and click the month and year link to access each post, which then did load page. Please fix… Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What are the exact search terms you are entering?
The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed. http://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpresscom-search/

Also note that you can use omnisearch on your dashboard to locate your content very quickly http://en.support.wordpress.com/omnisearch/

I have blogged for nearly 10 years now (over 8 here at wp.com) and I have some advice a to share, some of it may be advice that you do not appreciate but I am posting it anyway.
1. You are using an old retired theme and themes are retired when they no longer support all wordpress.com features. The gold standard today is responsive layout theme. Here is a link to the responsive themes you can choose from http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme.
2. You have a mile long blogroll of links in your sidebar that slows down page loading time and offers zero benefit as visitors rarely, if ever, click those links. More to the point, is that fact that search engines consider all reciprocal links to be of very low value or to have no value at all. You can get rid of the Links widget and create a static Page if you feel that you need to direct visitors to high quality related resources on other sites that do have authority in the same niche.
3. You are also slowing down page loading time by having a Archives widget in your sidebar and offers zero benefit as visitors rarely, if ever, click those links. More to the point, is that you can create a static page and use the archives shortcode on it.
Hope these suggestions help.

Thank you for responding. I have been using the search field function for a very long time (years) to load multiple pages of prior posts, that I embed into comment sections of newsfeed articles. It has worked seamlessly all this time, and as soon as I enter a word or two of a former blogpost title- I receive whatever options are appropriate. Even now the options list below the search field. I then click the appropriate entry and normally I have that full post on an additional target page. This has worked on both the Google and Safari browser without issue- until now.
I have never had problems with speed of pages loading; it’s been almost instantaneous. Also my blogroll links load immediately- also on a new target page- even now without any problem. Thankfully I do have the archive widget, as that is now the way that I have to access the former posts in order to load them individually on a new page each.
So with no issue re. my blogroll (and my stats show that people do ‘visit’ many other links), no problem with archive dated listings, and still the only problem being the search field malfunction- I would hope that a simple solution would be determined since this just started happening a few days ago. This is all being done on a Mac mini desktop, and again it has never been a problem until now.
