Problem with Sight Theme Slider & Sticky posts

Hello,
It appears that marking a post as a sticky no longer adds the post to the slider in the Sight Theme template. I cannot add or remove any posts to the slider, so I’m at a bit of a loss as to what to do. I have 20 featured posts currently in the slider, but since some changes were made to the WP editor, the instructions for adding a post to be featured in the slider no longer work. Any thoughts on how to get this to work now?

From the Site theme guide:
Sight displays up to 30 of your latest sticky posts that have featured images in a prominent slider on the blog page. To add a post to the slider, mark it as sticky and give it a featured image.

I count 29 featured posts in your slider. You should be able to add one more. Make sure the featured image is of sufficient size.
Featured images in the sticky posts slider are 290 in height with a flexible width (maximum width is 640).

Thanks for your response. When I try to add another one, it does not put it in the slider, it only shows it at the top of the front page. When I try to remove one (unmark it as a sticky) it is not removed. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

You certainly have more than 20 sticky posts featured in the slider. I counted 29, and recounted a couple of times. Today I counted 28. Perhaps I miscounted. You should be able to add up to 30. I have no explanation either for why you can not add one or two more to the posts slider, or why unmarking posts as sticky fails to remove posts from the slider.
I’ll tag the topic for staff attention.

I think it’s working. Something appears to have changed with the cache so that it takes a while for it to show up/disappear from the slider. A post added as a sticky seems to appear at the top of the front page first and then at some point disappears into the slider. All very mysterious, but at least it seems to be working. Before the changes were immediate. So, thanks for your info and assistance.

Indeed this is mysterious because I don’t experience that on my personal blog wearing the same theme. Are you clear on the fact that posts in the slider will display in order of the date they were published on?

Yes, they do appear to be in order of the date they were published beginning with the most recent:

Thanks for the update! I’ll keep an eye on the caching issue you mentioned, and if you have any further trouble with adding or removing posts from your slider please let me know. :)

Just to let you know, I’m having the same problem – haven’t waited long enough to see if cache is the issue, but is doing the same thing that crowrising described – marked as sticky with a featured image and just goes to the top of the front page rather than the slider. Hopefully time will just sort it out…
