Problem with Spectrum
-
Hi!
I’m loving the new theme “Spectrum”, but…
I managed to create a custom-menu, which works just fine, but now all my other pages have disappeared! When the custom-menu is removed, the rest of the pages are shown. I don’t know how to get both my “normal” pages and the custom-menu to show at the top of my blog.
Any help is appreciated! :)The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you referring to a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM? If so please rpovide the complete URL for the blog starting with http://
All you have to do is to go back to the custom menu you created and include the Pages you wish to include and save it. As we cannot see the blog we can provide no futher help than that. This post may be helpful Custom menus arrive at wordpress.com

I love the look of the theme. However, it does not seem to work all the time. Here is an example post… http://wordlinks.wordpress.com/2010/10/30/solved-appdatalocalapplicaton-dataapplication-data-repeating-recursion/

Just to clarify, the banner wrap does not always look like a wrap. As on that example page, the header is shoved to the right on the page. So, while the right side looks great, the left side does not.

Many of the newer themes use CSS3 and HTML5, which IE 7 and 8 don’t understand so the design reverts back to plain looking things (if the designer handles things right). IE9 supposedly will support CSS3 and HTML5, but being beta right now I would not recommend switching to it. It has problems here – and elsewhere – from what I’ve heard.

FYI, some of the site pages look just fine on this theme and some do not. I have not been able to tell what makes one page work and other not.

Give us links to the pages that are not displaying properly, or at least the names of the pages.

I love the look of this theme and I’ am using it but noticed I can not put all the widget that I want to. I add them and they do not show up not understanding why. I there a limit on how many widgets you can use? If so why did they not say that in the description
Thank You

If you are indeed referring to a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.com there is not limitation on the number of widgets you can use aside from common sense. This is the main link to the widgets page for wordpress.com bloggers. On this page you can click links for any widget and find descriptions for its use and how to install it into your sidebar. http://en.support.wordpress.com/topic/widgets-sidebars/ In addition weordpress.com bloggers can use other HTML widgets but cannot use widgets containing restricted codes that compromise security. Attempting to use such codes will prompt the software to strip them out. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/Turning now to common sense:
1. Page loading time is a ranking factor and the more widgets you use the longer it takes for your blog to load. Research demonstrates that potential readers will wait no longer than 8 seconds.2. The more widgets you place on your blog the more scrolling you are requiring readers to undertake and readers dislike scrolling and tend to click out of sites that require lots of scrolling.
3. The more widgets you use the longer your front pages becomes and the more scrolling you are requiring readers to undertake.
5. The use of too many widgets can spoil a blog’s design by making it look “busy” and cluttered.
6. Widgets can be distracting and draw the readers’ mind and eye away from your content.
7. The rule of thumb for installing any widget at all is that it must meet these conditions:
(a) Improve the functionality of a site by providing reader accessibility to content that is not located on the front page;
(b) Redirect readers to high quality sources of relevant information found in authoritative blogs in the same niche.
