Problem with stalkers

Recently, I have some stalkers from Spain. They comment on my post to humiliate me. How could I block the whole country from my site while I can’t install any free plug-ins

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @snowprincessmark, I don’t necessarily recommend blocking an entire country. You’ve got a few options that may help though:

You can automatically hold comments that contain certain words, for example. Or automatically get rid of comments based on other factors, listed here:

I tried but they are continuously humiliating me using bad words using different languages. The job of appove those comments or trash them is so said. I still have to read them. Beside, I don’t know all their bad words. They are attacking me personally because of their personal problem. I tried to block their IP but it’s IP from phones so it was impossible. and because they are living in Spain and they will never stop, I decided to block the whole country. It is so crazy that I have to pay to upgrade my site to use a free plug-in.

  • Even with a plugin blocking them isn’t really possible. They can just use a VPN or TOR browser to get around that.

If it’s really as bad as you say, I’d consider temporarily just shutting down comments on the site completely. If these people find they can’t comment any more, they’ll lose interest and move on, and in a few weeks you can return to normal.

But the key here is to ignore them.

And mark the comments as spam. Don’t just delete them. If you mark them as spam you’ll train our spam filter to start automatically blocking these comments.

  • And consider switching your discussion settings to the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” option. Looking at the comments in your site’s Trash folder, these people are not using WordPress.com accounts to comment. If you restrict commenting to logged-in users only (which would still allow people to comment via Facebook or Twitter login if they don’t have a WordPress.com account), that will also make it harder for these people to comment on your site.

Well. That sounds kind of good to hear that we can train the filter to recognize those spam words. I’ll set the Log in to comment. Hopefully they won’t create any fake account to comment. They did created thousands of facebook and instagram to send messages to humilate me. If log in to comment doesn’t work, I’ll shut down the comment section completely. Thank you!
