Problem with subcategories in Radcliffe 2
-
Hi! I’m having problems sorting my posts in categories and subcategories. I tick the boxes of the categories while I’m editing but then they don’t appear where they should.
And also, once I added a category while editing I can’t reorganize it. Is there any way I can do that?
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I find numerous subcategories in two generations of sub-menu items under the top-level item “Países que Visité” in the menu. However, under Europa only Italia seems to have any posts assigned to one of the subcategories.
I tick the boxes of the categories while I’m editing but then they don’t appear where they should.
Please describe a specific example, step-by-step, that produces this unwanted result.
And also, once I added a category while editing I can’t reorganize it. Is there any way I can do that?
Categories and subcategories may be edited, deleted, and otherwise managed at the WP Admin categories page. See the Managing Categories in WP Admin section of the Categories support page.

You may also edit, delete, and otherwise manage post categories in the My Site(s) interface at Settings > Writing.
-
At Settings > Writing, click the arrow at Categories to open the Manage Categories page.

Hi! Thanks for answering. So I reorganized the categories and subcategories and they are where they should be now, so thanks for that.
But they still don’t appear on the menu when I open the page. The steps I follow are:
When I edit a post I open the “categories” part and tick the box of the subcategorie they should be in. Should I do something else besides that? -
You’re welcome. : )
Should I do something else besides that?
Yes, because assigning categories or subcategories to posts doesn’t add them to a custom menu. Each menu item in a custom menu must be added manually (with the exception of items that link to top-level static pages, for which there is a setting that allows them to be added automatically).
It looks like you might be needing detailed instructions. I’ll call for staff attention. Staff will respond here. -
Hi peinandolatierra,
But they still don’t appear on the menu when I open the page.
I just want to make sure I’ve understood what you would like to do. I’ll use these categories as an example:
Países que visité (top level category)
— Asia (sub category of Países que visité)
—— Vietnam (sub category of Asia)When you click the Vietnam link in the menu, would you like all posts in that category to be displayed?
Once I know for sure, I’ll be happy to take a closer look.
Thanks!
