I’m attempting to put an automatic sign-up form from icontact in a sidebar on my site using the text widget but every time I try to load the html it first seems to automatically delete some of the html code (weird) and the result is that the html is showing up in my sidebar rather than the visual elements of the form.

Does anyone know the cause of this? I also see that I do not have a PLUG-IN feature on my menu bar. Is this theme-specific? Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there,
Please read this entry very carefully. WordPress.com vs WordPress.org

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

I suggest that you use the widget WordPress.com provides for email subscribers as the software is stripping out the code you are entering. > Widgets » Follow Blog Widget

Are there any options for collecting names and emails using wordpress.com?

No there aren’t. The followers you attract submit their email addresses only for the purpose of receiving your latest posts by email. They control how frequently they receive the updates – you do not. Also note that they are not providing their email address for any other purpose. Those followers who choose to follow comments or to submit comments are likewise are providing their email addresses only for the stated purpose and no other purpose.

Each time you publish new content on your blog, your followers receive an update, either on their Read Blogs page or via email (or both, depending on their settings).
Your site stats page displays how many followers you have, who your followers are, as well as how many people are subscribed to post comments on your site.
