Problem with the "Custom DNS Records"

I recently found out that the email for this site (www.seattle7writers.org) is now inaccessible after moving the domain over to WordPress. I discovered that I need to edit the custom DNS records in order to have it point back to where the site is hosted (with Network Solutions.) I got in touch with NS customer service and they gave me the following info:
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    TYPE: PRIORITY RESOURCE DATA
    MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG. CNAME MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
    SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG. CNAME SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
    SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG MX 10 INBOUND.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Now I know that it needs to be formatted differently from looking at the Custom DNS Records page, however that’s only a google example. I was, however, able to find an older post that led me to this format:

    MX 10 SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.
    CNAME MAIL MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET
.
    CNAME SMTP SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.

But that gives me this error:
    1. CNAME records should be “CNAME <subdomain> <domain>”. No wildcards (*).

Is there something I’m missing in there? I’ve looked in past forum posts, but I can’t seem to find an answer to this problem anywhere. Changing emails is unfortunately not a viable option at this point. Thank you for any help you can offer, and if there’s more information needed I would be happy to find it.

Bah, the copy job came out badly up above, Just ignore the line at the top “Type: Priority…etc” It was my attempt at formatting a table. This is about as close as I can get:

    Name: MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG. Type: CNAME
    Resource Data: MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.

    Name: SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG. Type: CNAME
    Resource Data: SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.

Name: SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG. Type: MX Priority: 10
    Resource Data: INBOUND.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.

  • You’ll want to format that like this:

    CNAME mail MAIL.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
    CNAME smtp SMTP.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.
    MX 10 INBOUND.SEATTLE7WRITERS.ORG.NETSOLMAIL.NET.

Those will take up to 72 hours to update after which your email should be up and running.
