Problem with the Edin theme

Hello, I’m just beginning with WordPress and I’d like to create a website with the Edin theme: https://wordpress.com/themes/edin/

I want to use the “Front page template” but I can only get the title and the main image to show up, not the articles underneath. I’ve tried changing the articles’ settings (parent page, page type, etc.) but to no avail.

I think I’m having trouble with this part of the instructions: “Select the page to which you just assigned the Front Page Template as “Front page,” and then choose another page as “Posts page” to display your blog posts.” I did select the Front Page Template page as the “Front page”, but I’m not sure what I must do with the other one. In Settings -> Reading, I chose the static page but I’m not sure what to use as the articles page so it’d display all the articles with their pictures as it does in the demo.

I’d appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I think you should try to do it in “customize” panel under “Theme options”. Under theme options, you can put 3 pages in Front Page: Featured page one, two and three. For example, type “about” under Featured page one (or whatever your about page is called). The 3 “articles” in the demo are actually pages, not posts.

Under the Reading section, I set it up to be static, too. “Home” is under Front Page, but left the Posts Page empty because it just messed with my homepage and the 3 images on it. Try to leave it empty.

Thanks, I’m going to try that.

You have two choices on any blog
    (1) All posts on the front page.
    (2) A static front page and posts on a different page.

By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors who will not be happy to have to click through an About page every time they visit your blog as they come to read your most recently published content. Creating that situation can make some visitors annoyed – so annoyed that they stop following your blog.

However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for all published posts (not pages) to display on in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.

To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
    A static page (select below)
    Front page:
    Posts page:
