PROBLEM WITH THE EMAILS SENT TO FOLLOWERS

  When WordPress sends an email to my followers, the email changes all the accents used in French (acute, grave, circonlfex) for stupid symbols! That makes the reading of the post very difficult!

  It is sooooo difficult to just ask a question or report a problem!

  Hi @francemorencystylist,

  Sorry you’re having trouble with the emails! I have a few follow-up questions to help troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Does the email display poorly both in browser-based email clients and in third-party programs like Apple’s Mail or Outlook?
  2. Have you noticed this only with your email address or with other email addresses through other email suppliers (not just Videotron)?

  I will ask some of my other followers, if they too get it like this. Right now, I only saw it in my Apple Mail.

  I asked around:
  I have a problem and I have a videotron address, on a Mac, with Mail
  Someone had the same problem with a videotron address, on a PC, with Windows Live Mail.
  Then no problem with a gmail address, on a Mac with Mail,
  no problem with a videotron address, on a PC, with Outlook,
  no problem with a hotmail address, on a PC, with Outlook.

  Does that help?

  Hi there,

  That does. Thanks for replying back with this information! The common denominator here appears to be Videotron email addresses, although I’m not sure why the individual using Videotron on Outlook isn’t experiencing the issue. The overall Videotron issue has to do with the PHPMailer bug detailed here:

  Unfortunately, there isn’t a short-term solution to implement at the current moment. However, it’s a bug that we’re looking to fix in the near future. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help at the current moment!
