Problem with the registration/login form
-
Hello.
I’m facing the following problem. When I try to register on the site through the registration form (create a new user of the site), I am redirected to the page for creating a wordpress.com account. The same situation occurs when I try to log in to my profile through the registration form on the site. In other words, an unauthorized site visitor can neither create an account on the site nor log in to an existing one.
How can I fix this problem? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’m not sure that I spotted the registration form you are referring to here. Can you point out what page it is on? This one or are you referring to a different page: https://collegelevelsports.wpcomstaging.com/form/
WordPress.com does not come with membership registration capabilities by default, so to add contributors to your site (like an editor or another admin) does require a WordPress.com account for security reasons. It sounds like you are trying to set up something different however. Can you walk us through what happens when someone fills out the form? Are you trying to add the visitor as a “member’ manually somehow? Is it possible you have added a plugin of some kind to add membership functionality?
Thanks for the additional info!

Hello.
Yes, this page contains fields for creating an account on the website https://prnt.sc/WW9gKP8wVfCQ
After filling out this form, you will be redirected to the registration page on wordpress.com
If the information (login or password) is entered incorrectly in the login form https://prnt.sc/ve6uZ6s6zFDf, you will also be redirected to the registration page of wordpress.com
And even if you create an account on wordpress.com, the user still does not have access to my site. that is, he can only create his own site -
Hey there,
Thank you for that additional information!
It sounds like the setting: “Allow users to log in to this site using WordPress.com accounts” needs to be deactivated, which can be deactivated here: https://wordpress.com/settings/security/collegelevelsports.wpcomstaging.com
Once deactivated, please also go to Settings > Permalinks > Click save.
To explain, the setting above is to assist with administrators on WordPress.com navigate WP Admin of the site. This can sometimes overwrite inbuilt registration systems, and is not plugin specific, so there’s a chance that you may be asked to re-login with your admin credentials when accessing different parts of the backend of the site (for example, installed plugins).
This is usually a one time login and is expected.
I hope this helps.
