Problem with the theme I purchased and customizing

  I purchased a them, and am in the process of customizing it, but I have done something wrong, and I can’t get the theme to apply. I published a post, but it doesn’t reflect the theme. What am I doing wrong, and how to fix it. This seems to be a website I have years ago and didn’t use.
