Problem with the thumbnails displaying on home page

  I have a problem with my thumbnails not appearing on my homepage. All I see is the generic image of a black box with a mouse pointer inside where the thumbnails should be for all of my posts. When I click on the thumbnail it brings me to the post with the image. I didn’t know if there is a way to get the thumbnails to show as the post image or not.
