Problem with Top Post and Pages widget

  • Unknown's avatar

    I purchased a premium theme, but they use a “page” to set up the Front or Home page on my website.

    However, as a result this page — which is called “Front” — is now repeatedly one of the most read page on the website and appears at the top of “Top posts and pages” widget which I refer to as trending articles on my site.

    Is their way to stop “pages” or particularly this page from appearing in the “Top pages and Posts” widget, particularly since some premium templates are using a page to set up their front page.

    I know there is a “likes” widget that only refers to articles, but I want to have a trending article widget, not a “likes” widget. The “Top pages and posts” widget also refreshes regularly and new articles are appearing regularly in the list. The “Like” widget does not refresh as much.

    In my original free template, I did not have this problem.

    Note I had originally posted this in the Support forum but got no response.

    Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi foxdog1020,

    While having the widget exclude pages from the mix is the most ideal solution, it does not appear available at the moment. I do have a CSS solution that will work, however, it comes with two caveats. It might not work will all browsers and that if “Front” changes in the ranking, you will have have to adjust the CSS to reflect that change. You would change the number 2 to whatever position “Front” moves to in the list.

    .widget-area .widget ul li:nth-child(2) {
        display: none;
    }

    Thanks daschultemn that seems to have done the job. I will keep an eye on it and see how it works.
