Problem with transfer and domain

Hello, We have a problem with the import of the website from wordpress.com to a external hosted wordpress.org.
We try to resolve it before the end of the validity of the domain, but what is it possible if we can’t ?
Do I have to renew the domain and pay for only few weeks ?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Benjamin,
If you need to renew the domain, you can do that from your My Upgrades page. It isn’t possible to renew a domain for only a few weeks — you’ll need to renew it for a full year.
However, if you are moving the site to a new host, you can also transfer your domain there. If you transfer the domain after you renew it here, your domain will still be valid through that expiration date after you transfer it (you won’t lose the renewal you do here).

Is there a specific step in the transfer process you are having trouble with? I can guide you through that process if you need.
You can get started on your My Domains page. You can click the “Edit” button next to your domain to open the domain manager, and then go to the “Transfer Domain” tab to transfer the domain.
For my upgrades, is it possible to renew only a part of the pack ?
I just unlinked your domain from your Premium plan so you can renew just the domain (without the Premium plan). Please let me know if I can do anything more to help!

The biggest problem occurs during the import with a time exceed.
Even when we force it in the basic code, it doesn’t work.
We also try to cut the xml file in few parts, no results.
Maybe the problem is the xml file : more than 16 Mo !Thank you for the answer about the domain renewal.

I see. So you’re having trouble transferring your content and not the domain, correct?
In that case, I recommend that you Export your content from WordPress.com in pieces, rather than exporting all of your content at once. That way, you can save several separate export files and import them in pieces on your new site.
If that doesn’t work, you may need to contact your website host for your WordPress.org site for more assistance. You can also find tips for importing your content in the WordPress.org forums.

I’m not sure I understand. If you are moving your site to a different website host using the software from WordPress.org, you don’t need the WordPress.com Premium plan. Is that the premium pack you’re talking about?

The transfer is in standby cause it’s not ready and I have renew the domain on wp.com
I understood what you told me about the premium.
Just to be sure, what will happen when the premium pack will not be active about my custom of the theme ?(I promise, it’s my last question !)

Once the Premium plan expires, all of the custom design features on your site will be deactivated. Your site’s theme will go back to its default design, without your customizations.
