Problem with updating the content

    Hi there,
    I’m trying to update the content of my site but when I click “Update”, it gives me the following notification and it does not get updated. In case this might be due to a browser, I tried to update my page both on Chrome and Safari, but it didn’t work. I have been having this issue time to time. Could you please help me with this problem?

    “An error occurred while saving the post. Assigned author cannot publish post.”

    Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

    You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at https://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

    An Author can create, edit, publish, and delete only their own posts, as well as upload files and images. Authors do not have access to create, modify, or delete pages, nor can they modify posts by other users. Authors can edit comments made on their posts.

    Are you the author of the post?

    Are you the Admin of the blog who registered it under your username account?

    please provide this info:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

    Hello Müge – is this happening only on a specific page (such as the front page of the site?)

    I noticed that the original author of that front page is different from all the other pages, and that author is no longer a user of the blog. I changed the author of the page to your user account.

    Can we see if that fixes your issue?

    I am both the admin and the author of the blog. I don’t know how the original author of the front page was different but it seems like the issue is fixed now. Thanks to y’all!
