problem with uploading/using images
-
Thanks judyb. I must have missed that when I set up the theme a while back. So many blogs…so many options :)
-
FYI: I sent a number of emails to support and haven’t heard back. I guess that’s why this is free….

I’m having a similar problem, but interestingly, the files are visible on the dashboard in safari, but not in firefox! I deleted the broken link, but I’ll stick it back so you have an example.
Kind of disorienting!

Here’s an example:
http://membracid.wordpress.com/2007/04/05/michigan-totally-sucks/
When I look at this page on firefox on a Macintosh, I see the image.
When I look at the same page, on Firefox, on a PC (Windows XP) there is no image. When I look at the list of uploaded files on the dashboard, same thing–file there on the mac, file not viewable on PC
Curious!

I’m on a pc (windows XP) using firefox 2.0.0.3 and I see an image in the header (yellow and orange lilies) and in the post (wilted daffodils).
-
huh. Okaaaayyyyy.
That’s just really freaky.it’s the wilted dafodils that is showing as a broken link for me, and as a missing file on the PC. In fact, when I did the right click “view file” on the alt text, I got “file not found” from WordPress.
Very. Strange.

I’m guessing there might be some problems resolving the <blogname>.files.wordpress.com subdomain. I don’t think this is browser/OS dependent considering that I’ve checked my blog (through friends’ computers) using Firefox/Safari/IE/Camino across WinXP/Mac OS X/Ubuntu Linux over the past couple of weeks.
The result is the same. Pictures *sometimes* appear. Pictures *sometimes* disappear.
Sounds like a subdomain/hosting problem to me.
