Problem with website security certificate??
-
Hello,
I publish controversial content via my wordpress.com blog. Over the past few weeks I have noticed that google, firefox and other search engines are refusing to provide direct links to my blog, without first warning the searchers that there is a problem with my security certificate.
Very specifically, the search engines redirect to a page providing the following information:
“There is a problem with this website’s security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website’s address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.
Recommended icon Click here to close this webpage.
Not recommended icon Continue to this website (not recommended).”
Very clearly, this information will cause many people to close their web browser and not visit my blog, due to fear of being hacked or spammed.
I would like to know why my blog is receiving this form of web censorship, and if other wordpress.com blog users are experiencing it as well. I have a paid wordpress.com account, and I see no reason why my blog should have this type of warning message given to potential viewers and visitors who locate my blog via search engine.
I would appreciate responses from both wordpress.com users, as well as wordpress.com support technicians.
Thanks!

I did some more experimenting, and the problem seems to be specific to the Google search engine, across all browsers such as Explorer, Chrome, Firefox. When I tried to access my blog posts via search on the Yahoo and Bing search engines, there was no security certificate error message.
So, it looks like a Google search engine problem, not related to wordpress.com service. Problem resolved, at least it will be if and when google fixes its glitch.
