Problem with website URL
-
Hello!
I have a question regarding the website’s URL.
When going to the blog page from http://www.laykeanalytics.com, I have this URL as standard: https://laykeanalytics.com/blog.html. Whenever I click on any of the blog articles, I get the same URL (https://laykeanalytics.com/blog.html), so if I want to share a specific article’s URL, I can’t. I end up with the previous URL which always takes me to the homepage, it never takes me to the blog article.
In order to get the proper URL of a blog article, I have to get on the WordPress site and I have to select the URL from one of the posts, for instance: https://laykeanalyticsblog.wordpress.com/2022/02/08/meet-our-people-helena-lundvall-student-at-uppsala-university-and-ai-enthusiast/
The problem here is that, when I take this URL, I can’t go back to the original Layke Analytics website (www.laykeanalytics.com). There is no button or anything that I can add to be sent back to the original Layke Analytics website. This makes it difficult to track the traction and engagement as well.
I am not sure how to solve this problem. I don’t know if there’s a mistake made when we integrated the WordPress page to our website, or if it has something to with our free account.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
https://www.laykeanalytics.com/ and https://laykeanalyticsblog.wordpress.com/ are two completely different sites, and laykeanalytics.com isn’t hosted with us, and also doesn’t appear to be built using the WordPress software, so we have no control at all over how that site works.
I took a look at your page at https://www.laykeanalytics.com/blog.html, and I see you’re simply embedding your entire WordPress.com site inside an iframe on that page. When you click on a post in that iframe, it updates which page from your WordPress.com site is appearing in the embed, but it’s just the content of the embed that’s changing. You never leave the page at https://www.laykeanalytics.com/blog.html, so the URL doesn’t change.
This is the expected behaviour for iframe embeds. The only way I can think of to not have this happen, is to not use an iframe, but instead embed your WordPress.com site’s RSS feed on the page instead. Then clicking on a post will take you away from laykeanalytics.com, and directly to the post on the WordPress.com site instead.
You’ll need to ask the developer who built that site for you for help on the best way to do that.
There is no button or anything that I can add to be sent back to the original Layke Analytics website. This makes it difficult to track the traction and engagement as well.
Even with a RSS feed embed, you’ll still have this problem, as these are two completely separate websites with no intrinsic link between them. The only way to prevent this issue is to host your blog directly on your site instead of having two different sites, but as your site isn’t using WordPress, but appears to be custom-built, there’s no simple way to do this.
