Problem with whois server info in domain transfer
-
I am transferring my domain to BlueHost. They say that they are having problems with “obtain[ing] information from the whois server”. The registrar is Wild West Domains, Inc., a company I have never heard of.
I am unsure of next steps. Can you help me?
My domain is NotYourAverageAmerican.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I may have jumped the gun. I was able to continue the process despite this error message. I am waiting to see if transfer is complete. I will follow up with resolved or not resolved as soon as possible.

Hi Angela!
It looks like your domain is still pending transfer. I went ahead and accepted the transfer for you. Please let me know if the transfer goes through!

The transfer did go through! Thank you.
Now I’m having trouble with the import. No posts are showing up. Not even the blog name shows up. It still reads My Great WordPress Blog. Only 352 photos have appeared in the media files. All my research is showing that the import plug in isn’t working. Any solutions?

After repeated imports, I’ve managed to transfer all photos. About 200 at a time. About 6 different imports. Plus an import for pages, posts, and comments.
For those reading this that are going through a similar process, just realize that reimporting the same import will bring new info each time until you can transfer it all. It’s frustrating but it is possible.
The new website isn’t perfect but with a little more troubleshooting, I should have it there.
Thanks for the help. I’ll close out this session!

Wonderful Angela! I’m glad you got this worked out. Yes, repeated imports should only bring across new content. It won’t duplicate content. Occasionally, these import issues are the result of timeouts on the hosting side. I’m glad you got your particular case worked out!
Let me know if you need anything else.
