Problemas al Editar el archivo .htaccess

  hola, estoy teniendo problemas con mi pagina, no puedo acceder a la pagina y no puedo acceder a mi escritorio dentro de WP.
  este problema surge al querer corregir un problema de error 404 con mi pagina, averiguando por internet, llegue hasta la opcion de actualizar o modificar una lineas en el archivo .htaccess , a partir de ahi es que me surgio todo este inconveniente de no poder acceder a mi pagina ni al escritorio de WP, necesitaria si alguno me guia como poder solucionar el problema ,gracias.
