Please can you help me move all my followers, likes and comments from my old .com site (www.tasteandlight.com) to my new self-hosted site http://www.tasteandlight.com which is a .org site now hosted by BlueHost.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I would be glad to take care of this for you.
It looks like your self-hosted Jetpack site is currently connected on this URL: http://69.195.124.61/~tastean5/
I recommend that you change that to tasteandlight.com before we do the transfer. Once the domain is updated in your WordPress installation, just disconnect and reconnect Jetpack from your WordPress.com account. No need to reinstall Jetpack, just disconnecting and reconnecting will do the trick.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hi and thanks for trying to help – this is what I did and this is the outcome – can you try and work out what is going on please?
Thank you – I’ve sent this message to BlueHost as well.
Hi, I am trying to migrate my followers across from my wordpress hosted site to my self hosted site.
WordPress help advised me to change my URL from 69.195.124.61/~tastean5 back to tasteandlight.com.
I went into my data base, following instructions and changed the address in the two places required.
I then disconnected and re-connected Jetpack.
It appears I have two sites – tasteandlight (original with followers) and new taste and light (no followers).
I thought I may need to go back into my data base and change taste and light to tasteandlight so they are the same.
But I can’t do this – I get the message below:
Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly.
Please advise.

Hi there, everything looks fine at this end now – your Jetpack site is connected on your permanent domain, tasteandlight.com.
Your subscribers and followers have been transferred as requested. Just a heads-up that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.
Best of luck with your self-hosted site!

Hi Kathryn,
I can see my followers showing on my blog, but I don’t believe they are now being notified when a publish a new post. Is there anyway to verify this please and rectify if I’m right?
Thank you, Rob.

Hi Rob, if you’re having any issues with Jetpack, could you please ask for assistance over in the Jetpack support forum:
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
Thanks very much.

Hi Kathryn,
I’m trying to find an answer in the wordpress.org forum too but hope you may still be able to help?
One suggestion is to ask a staff member at wordpress.com to move all my email subscriptions from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to tasteandlight.com – can this be done? The other question I have is when I click on ‘my blogs’ I have two – tasteandlight and Taste and Light. There should only be one (the first one). I think this is something I did when I moved over. How can I remove the second one? Is it possible you can have a look and try to work out what’s going on?
Thank you so much,
Robin. -

I’m not sure I understand exactly what you mean. I already transferred your subscribers earlier from tasteandlight.wordpress.com to tasteandlight.com.
You can see them here:
http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog=56508842&blog_subscribers&unit=1If any of your 10 email subscribers aren’t receiving updates by email, please post in the Jetpack forum so staff can investigate.
WordPress.com followers who had previously opted to get email updates will need to re-subscribe using the signup box on your new self-hosted site, otherwise they’ll only see your posts in their Reader, as I mentioned earlier.
The other question I have is when I click on ‘my blogs’ I have two – tasteandlight and Taste and Light.
You’re seeing both your WordPress.com site and your Jetpack site. If you would like to hide one, head over to your WordPress.com dashboard here:
https://tasteandlight.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs
Hover over the word “Visible” in the Dashboard column, and click “Hide” on the site you’d like to hide. That should remove it from the list.
Just let me know if you need further help.

Thank you Kathryn, I appreciate your help, I’m feeling my way through this – it’s not really my thing! I still have a question though :) do I have two blogs or one? I thought the blog would stay exactly the same but just be hosted on a different server? If I ‘hide’ ‘tasteandlight’ and just keep taste and light’ what will happen?
Sorry to be so dense about all this… -
You have two separate sites. Your original site is still hosted on WordPress.com, and you have a second site hosted by BlueHost.
If I ‘hide’ ‘tasteandlight’ and just keep taste and light’ what will happen?
I believe will be removed from your My Blogs list in the dashboard. Why not try it and see. :-) You can always unhide it if it has any negative side effects, no harm will be done.
