Problems all day

Maybe it’s just the theme I’m using (Highwind) or maybe it’s WP in general, but I have had nothing but problems going for 8 hours today.
A huge setback to my business!My About page is saved, published and added to the menu – but it doesn’t show up when you click the link to view it. It just keeps showing the Home page.
Also, the Image widget keeps disappearing in the sidebar. The image won’t show up on the page, or when it does for a brief moment, it moves and then is at the bottom of the page – not where I placed the widget. When I go back to fix the widget – it’s not there at all.
I’ve had other blogs on WP before – never had this many problems with a theme. I gave up trying to create a custom header – nothing fit and the uploads were all over the place. I create blogs this for a living for clients – thinking seriously about not recommending WP for people anymore – free or not.
