Problems changing website name

My website used to be anssisojakka.wordpress.com, which I then cancelled. Later I came back to wordpress and I started another website: anssisojakkastudio.wordpress.com. I would like to change back to the simpler anssisojakka.wordpress.com, but I get a message saying that it is already in use. ITs not in use by me, and I’m pretty sure its not in use by anyone else either. So.. whats the problem?

Trying to delete a wordpress.com blog URL prompts at least three warnings messages explaining that deletion is permanent and irreversible.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/The deleted blog URL will not become available again. I’m sorry but you cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
