Problems Creating a sub Domain for my main blog- Help!!!

    I just created a sub domain for my main site artlessonsforkids.me. The sub domain should read: shop.artlessonsforkids.com however after I created it, the site now reads: shopdotartlessonsforkidsdotcom.wordpress.com

    I plan on self hosting this blog so I can turn it into my store but don’t know what to do now.

    Help!! What have I done wrong???

    I want to purchase the domain through WP however am scared it will be that long address that included the word ‘dot’ rather than ‘.’

    Anyone wonderful out there who can help me PLEASE???

    Yes.

    Buying a domain is easy but you don’t type in the .com part. You just type whatever you want as the domain, like in my case I typed in

    raincoaster

    and that was that. I continued to the Pay area and it was done.

    Your problem is that you tried to create a subdomain without registering the domain first. You do need to buy the base domain before you can map to a subdomain. Here are the instructions http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
