problems customizing site

  Trying to customize Arcade to have these buttons within header: Home, About, What is the VF?, If it’s Tuesday….
  Then trying to put categories on the side for recent comments (drop down), archive (with dates) and a way to categorize the posts- Great People; Logistics; etc.
  I haven’t been able to do any of these… please help!
  site is allroadstorome.com; can you explain why it comes up on my account as allroadstoromedotcom.wordpress.com? Will my readers need to type all that in?

  Hi Toni,

  It looks like you’re on your way with your Custom Menus. You just need to keep adding to the menu bar up top. You already have Home and About Us. Just keep adding in the rest of the items which you’d like.

  As for the sidebars, you’ve already set some great content there, but notice the instructions within each of the first two widgets: “This is the first sidebar. It won’t appear on the home page unless you set a static front page.”

  So in order for those to appear, you’ll need to set a static front page by following the instructions right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  And regarding your blog name, no. Nobody is going to need to remember that long blog name, not even you. Since you purchased the domain name, our system added the “dotcom” at the end as a method of record keeping. If you REALLY hate it, you can change the blog name by following the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/ , but really nobody is going to see it, only the domain you bought! :)

  thanks, Ash. I have no idea how home and about got on the menu bar… but that’s okay if I could get categories. I set the home page as static and added posts, etc. under that page. Somehow the itinerary has shown up instead, even though it’s categorized as “If it’s Tuesday…”. Also, nothing links from the home page… help!

  I’m so sorry that I didn’t get back to you earlier. I was out ill for several days and so did not see your messages! To answer your question, we don’t currently have any phone support available, even on a fee basis.

  I took another look at your site and I noticed that you’ve changed your theme away from Arcade, which means that the requirements are a bit different. Just to make sure that you have it, here are instructions on how to work with the menu bar system:
