Problems displaying the blog on Internet Explorer browser

Just recently an issue occurred – the blog homepage content is not visible on Internet Explorer. I haven’t change anything to the design and it was showing just fine on the noted web-browser until recently (earlier this week).
The display on IE shows only the background colour of the homepage, all the recent blog posts are invisible but the mouse cursor indicates that some of the links are there. -

It’s hosted from WordPress.com, but I’m still using the Free plan so I don’t have much control over the design and the functionality of the site.
