problems editing in Misty Lake theme

    I don’t seem to be able to rearrange pictures or add text between the pictures while editing in Misty Lake theme. Every time I want to change something, I have to start from the very beginning, because there is no space between the pictures which can give me flexibility of editing. I can have a block of text before (or after my pictures), but if I want to have a picture and then some text, there is no way to guess where my new text will go until I actually look at the Preview and find out that it went to the wrong place.

    For example, I need to rearrange pictures in this post, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to do it without starting from the very beginning, see http://wp.me/p34Vxu-wH.

    Thanks in advance,
    Svetlana

  • Hi there. If you click with the mouse to the right of a picture and then press Return the cursor should move to a new line below the picture so you can add another picture or text. I usually press Return twice and then insert a picture in the top line so I know I have a blank line underneath in which to continue.

    To re-arrange pictures within a post you should be able to simply drag-and-drop them, but I’ve found this doesn’t always work and it’s just easier for me to remove a picture and re-insert it in the position I want.

    Of course, if you’re willing to teach yourself a few HTML basics you can easily re-arrange, add and tweak things using the text view in the post editor. See these documents for the basics:

    Thank you for getting back with me. Unfortunately, it only allows me to click to the right of the first picture. However, dragging and dropping does work for me, so 50% of my problems are resolved :)

    I guess, I will have to learn HTML :(

  • It’s easier than it looks :-D

    For example, if you need a blank line under an image, go to the text editor and find the html tag for that image. It will look like more or less like this:

    <img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-3708" src="http://kokkieh.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/eie-louis-tobie.jpg?w=584" alt="Puppets - boys" width="584" height="438" />

    It will start with “img” and the URL will be of the image you entered, including its file name. Just find the “>” symbol after that, press return, and type something. Then switch back to the visual editor. What you typed will now be below the photo and you delete it an insert a different photo or type the text you want to appear.
