Problems embedding a google map in a post

  I have followed all the instructions for embedding a google map and this is what I have on the text part of my post:

  This is what appears on the post

  I feel like crying!

  Hi there,
  Don’t let this get you down. We cannot use the new Google maps engine. We have to use this guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/

  Thank you – I finally managed to embed a map by returning to Goolgle Classic Maps; this is confirmation that it is Google and not me.

  Hmm, I spoke too soon. My next attempt failed, even though I used Classic Maps. This seems to be a completely unpredictable exercice.

  Hi there,

  Can you send me a link to the post or page where you tried to embed this map? It will help if I can take a look at it there.

  But from what you posted above, it looks like you were using google.co.uk to create your map. Is that right? We’ve noticed some issues when trying to embed Google maps from domains other than google.com. Can you try switch the .co.uk part of your embed code to .com and see if that works for you?

  I created a new map using google.com and was able to embed the map in my blog. Using google.co.uk seemed to be the problem. Thank you for responding – I can confirm what you say, although the successful code had more differences than just the suggested substitution.

  Thanks for reporting back to let us know what worked for you! :) I’ve asked our team to look into the issue, to see if we can get embedded Google Maps to work when the map is created at google.co.uk and other domains, as well.

  Hi there, I wanted to let you know that our developers have fixed this embed issue. Google Maps created at google.co.uk (and other Google domains) can now be embedded properly. Thanks again for reporting this issue. :)
