Problems embedding slideshow HTML: Vuvox
-
I’ve just switched to WordPress and would like to use slideshows I’ve assembled (photos and videos) in Vuvox (www.vuvox.com). I’ve had no problems embedding the HTML code supplied by Vuvox into my Blogger site, but am having no success in getting the same HTML code to work in WordPress.
Here’s an example of Vuvox on my Blogger site:

photos: http://flipland2.blogspot.com/2008/01/through-my-window-switzerland.html
Is there a compatability issue? How can I get the Vuvox HTML work?

hi deltafoxtrot,
i tried that, but each time i cut-and-paste the html embed code from vodpod to WP and then save the post, the HTML code disappears. it’s doing the same thing with the Vuvox HTML code. I also tried to use that WP bookmarklet supplied by Vodpod, but keep getting an error message (below).
Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /widget/save_video_popup.Reason: Error reading from remote server
I’d prefer to embed HTML directly from HTML and not have to go via Vodpod. What am I doing wrong here? Any other suggestions as to how to get the Vuvox HTML code to be properly embedded into a post?

You cannot embed unapproved platforms directly. There are a limited number of platforms that are approved for embedding here, and they have to be done in ways which are unique to WordPress.com. Vuvox is not on the list. Currently, the Vodpod workaround is the only way to do this.
http://faq.wordpress.com/?s=embedHave you tried putting the vodpod widget in your sidebar and putting it in there? I know you’re supposed to be able to put things directly in posts via Vodpod, but that appears to be somewhat messed up with the new upgrade at the moment.
