Problems embedding YouTube videos
-
I have embedded YouTube videos via shortcodes (inserting into text format) before and never had problem. Now I can’t seem to do it. When I insert shortcode, it doesnt’ even show me the video in preview mode or even ‘updated’ mode. When I come back to ‘edit’, the short code is missing. I’ve tried just inputting the URL unlinked but when I preview/update it takes up the whole page of the blog and I need to keep it to max 400/300 (w/h). Never had problems before. my blog is http://www.longplaymiami.wordpress.com Thanks

Hi there,
I went and took a look at the drafts in your blog and there weren’t any YouTube videos in there that I could see what might be causing the issues. Can you add one so I could take a look?
When you’re adding the shortcode, I always like to make sure that I’ve got the simplest youtube link possible and that my shortcode is formatted like so:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m234k567i89]
With whatever other requirements tacked on to the end.

Were you using an iframe or a shortcode to try to embed a YouTube video?
If you were using an iframe (which should automatically get converted into a shortcode), there was a recent change in the embed code formatting by YouTube and we’ve now updated WordPress.com to work with iframe codes again.
If you’re using the shortcode or auto embed method to embed a YouTube video, can you please reply with an example of the code or link you entered that isn’t working?
