Problems exporting the contents of my blog
-
I am trying to export all the content created and linked to the navarra post I created a couple of weeks ago. The content is not large, so I was expecting the task to be fairly simple and quick as I have a good internet connection.
In spite of this, the operation is taking a long time, so any help on how to perform this task quickly would be welcomed. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
An export should take only a few minutes, even if you have a lot of content on your site. Are you trying to export from lnpm.wordpress.com?
I can see that an export was done on that site 3 days ago, and that export is showing as complete. Did you not receive an email with a link to the export file?

Hello,
in effect, a few hours after the post, I tried exporting again and it seemed to work. I was hoping all the material in the post (images, etc) would be exported as a zipped file, but the export only delivered an xml file.
If the intent is to transfer all the information (text and images) to another platform without having to repeat the whole operation once more, it didn’t seem enough? or would linking the xml file to the new platform be sufficient?
Thanks for the response.

The XML doesn’t contain any images. You are correct. But it does contain links to all the images in your site’s media library. As long as your site is online and not set to private (hidden from search engines is fine), the images should be ported over when you import that file to another site. (We cannot guarantee this, though, especially not if you import to a non-WordPress platform, so please don’t delete anything on WordPress.com until you’re sure your images made it across.)
Theme, setting and database files on WordPress.com cannot be exported. If you’re moving to a self-hosted WordPress site you can migrate your followers and site stats if you install the Jetpack plugin to that site and connect it to your WordPress.com account.
