Problems getting posts to show on category pages

  Hi, I have just made a new blog, made multiple pages and written and published my first post. I have assigned each page to a category so that my posts can be shown on their corresponding page. However, when I have categorised my first post, it isn’t showing on the corresponding page. Can you tell me why? Thanks
