Problems holiday options offered by Wordoress

    TWO major problems, so far:
    1) The falling snow option doesn’t work properly on my site and I’ve used that option ever since I began my blog and snow was offered. When I go to my Dashboard and select Settings-General; I can’t change the speed (didn’t that used to be an option?) and what snow, if you can call it that, “SPITS” more than falls – it falls really fast in streak/streams of 3-5 flakes all together rather than spread across the screen like it’s supposed to work and I can’t fix it (no option offered). VERY ANNOYING!
    2) There is NO “Custom Background” option offered – all that pops up is other main-page options and I like the one I have; I don’t want to change it but I would like to add some festive-appearing background.

    Hello there,
    This theme, Ocean Mist, is now retired and themes are retired when they no longer support all WordPress.com features. I suggest you try switching to the default Twenty Thirteen theme temporarily, clearing your browser cache and cookies and then and see if these are theme related issues. Will you try that please?

    (1) No we have never been able to control speed re: snow
    You can enable/disable snow and then it will display or not display on your blog or any other WordPress.com blogs you visit. To enable or disable snow go here > https://wordpress.com/#!/settings/
    and scroll down to:
    Snow __ Show falling snow on blogs where it’s enabled.

    (2) There is no custom background on the Ocean Mist theme which I have displaying on my test blog currently.
